Pelican Island Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR or NSDAR), organized in 2019, has adopted its first two on-going projects chosen to help preserve the history and the environment of our beautiful area for our children and our posterity:
1. cleaning headstones in our area’s cemeteries in conjunction with Children of the American Revolution
2. partnering with our namesake, Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge.
Female military heroes, U.S. Lighthouses, Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge (our namesake), and American Sign Language were some of the guest speakers’ topics during our organizational year.
